BIO:
I am an Economist at the Research Division of the Bank of Spain (Banco de
España) since September 2007. I obtained
my Ph.D. in November 2007 at CEMFI
(Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros) and University of
Santiago de Compostela for my dissertation Heterogeneity
and Dynamics in Individual Wages and Labour Market Histories.
From September to December of 2006 I was a Graduate Affiliate Research
Student at the Economics Department of UCL
(University College London). I joined IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor) as
a Research Affiliate in August 2006. In October 2007 I have been awarded
the Journal of Applied Econometrics
Dissertation Prize 2007 for my paper entitled Modelling Heterogeneity and
Dynamics in the Volatility of Individual Wages. For more details on my background,
please see my full CV.
My main research interests are in
Microeconometrics and Empirical Labour Economics. My research belongs
to an emerging literature on methods of estimation of nonlinear
fixed effects panel data models with reduced bias properties
and its application to a dynamic conditional variance model of
individual wages. More generally, I am interested in the relation
between Wage Dynamics and Work Histories, as well as in the statistical
properties of relevant estimation methods.
I am also member of the executive board of COSME,
a subcommittee of the Spanish Economic Association founded to monitor the position of women in the economics profession and
to undertake activities that improve women’s position.
